A S15a Landowner Statement has been lodged pertaining to the Keysoe International site. A S15a Landowner Statement states the land is not a village green. This is valid for 20 years.
This does not affect any public rights away across that land, so public footpaths across the land can still be used.
A village green is land that the general public have a right to use for recreational purposes. Anyone can apply to register land as a village green. The application must prove that the general public have used the land for recreation for at least 20 years “as of right”.
Once a S15a statement has been lodged, any such application must be made within one year. There are however a number of “event triggers” which negate the application, meaning it cannot be accepted.
